News and Notes Join us for our next meeting!
Meeting place: Swartz Creek City Hall Council Chambers May Meeting: Paul Spaniola will discuss his pipe museum and shop. June Meeting: Collecting Postcards by Don Wilson from Flushing. July Meeting: is Czech Night, This annual event to be on Thursday July 10th at 6pm at the Swartz Creek United Methodist Church. Dinner will be catered. Cost of the meal will be announced later.
Here is the list of Swartz Creek soldiers who were killed or died during WWII. How did they die? Now we all know! Francis Blanchard was killed in action. Ernest Christensen was killed in action. Kenneth Elliott was killed in action. J. D. Plummer Jr. was lost in the Pacific Ocean while on his way home following the Japanese surrender. His body was never found. John W. Clarke died in a plane crash while on a training mission over Council Bluff, Iowa on December 14, 1943. Harold Cook died from combat wounds. L. B. Kingsbury died from disease. Donald Lawrence was killed in action. Carl Eisentrager was killed in action. Dalton D. Wells died in fighter plane crash in South Pacific. His body was never found.Let us continue to honor these brave and honorable men!
